We all know the saying that we should know what's in our food that we eat but this is crazy, $8,000 is going to catfish DNA research.
Also, in the porkulus is $1,000,000 to build a fence around a bridge in florida, to stop people from jumping off. Hey, Mr. President, why don't you spend some more time, fixing the mess at the fence around our border before you put up another.
Watch out for those oysters, they may not look it, but they are quite the violent specie, in fact, we're spending $8,000 for oyster rehabilitation. We're gonna take back our street! from oysters...

Grim Polls For Obama
This article from the Hot Air Blog reports of strong disapproval for President Obama at the recess. All polls seem to be low right now from job approval, heal reform, the economy handling etc.
Currently his ratings show 47% approval, and 53% disapproval. (Rasmussen Reports)

The So Called 47 Million Uninsured
I don't know how i can be more clear on this. Obama and his team, is lying.
"oh wwe have to cover every one. there are 47 million without health-" no there arent.
There are not 47 million uninsured americans. the cencus says that of these so called 47 million americans without health insurance, 10 million of them are illegal immigrants, and therefor not amrican citizens. Now moving on, another 9.5 of these earn over $75,000 a year and with that can afford to buy health insurance if they wanted.
So that brings us to about 20 milliom.
So people are choosing for what ever reason to not have health care. They can already buy their own, they just choose not to. 9.7 million are eligable for employer insurance but again they opt out of it for some strange duranged reason.
Another 6 million were temporarily uninsured for about 4 months and will get care back.
So now thats about 35 million people, leaving just 12 million without health care. 12 million, that's quite a change from 47 million. The universal care preachers are lying. 12 million, not 47 million.

Whole Foods Health Reform
Since i made this blog the issue that has come up most, is health care. here is just one more health reform that doesn't call for a government take over.
1. Remove the legal obstacles that slow the creation of high-deductible health insurance plans and health savings accounts (HSAs).
2. Equalize the tax laws so that employer-provided health insurance and individually owned health insurance have the same tax benefits.
3. Repeal all state laws which prevent insurance companies from competing across state lines.
4. Repeal government mandates regarding what insurance companies must cover.
5. Enact tort reform to end the ruinous lawsuits that force doctors to pay insurance costs of hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.
6. Make costs transparent so that consumers understand what health-care treatments cost.
7. Enact Medicare reform.
8. Revise tax forms to make it easier for individuals to make a voluntary, tax-deductible donation to help the millions of people who have no insurance and aren't covered by Medicare, Medicaid or the State Children's Health Insurance Program.
--CEO of Whole Foods John Mackey
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would also like to add a few amendments to this great reform package:
1. Some adaption of the Blue Cross Blue Shield plan for those without jobs or who cant afford higher premiums.
2. Health care vouchers or tax credits to each family to buy private health care
3. Medicaid reform
4. Creating small government co-ops in states for a compromatic type "free gov't health care"
and more...
The Free Market Solution To Reduce Energy Usage
We all can admit weather we believe in climate change or not that we should help the environment. And we as Americans, use way to much energy.
Most people will propose things like tax hikes on electricity and things like Cap-and-Trade.
An approach that i find very reasonable is one i found in the Atlantic Magazine who i give all the credit for this.
If we give to each household a bill with their energy usage and then, also with that, their neighbors energy usage to compare to it would help reduce the use of energy.
Ex: Let's say the Johnson Family got a bill saying they used x amount of energy and a list of their neighbors energy usage. So it would say something like this.
You used 25% more energy than the Coopers who used x amount of energy. Then it might say, compared to the Smiths, you used 13% less energy. Then the smiths would get something like, you used 13% more energy than the Johnson family. And so forth.
This brings some competition to bring out the green people to compete for the lowest energy usage so the result, is everyone using less energy.
Conservatives need to conserve, even energy.
Darn Healthcare Costs
A recent poll shows data today as compared with the data from january in 1978.
The numbers show that since '78 spending in healthcare costs have gone up 6%.
i know its terrible isn't it? But it also says that since '78 cost for college tuition, have shot up by 7.74%
All this while all other costs have gone up by 3.9%
Hmmm so compared to college tuition health costs are... nothing.
Remembering Ted Kennedy
Today we remember one of the all time greats, Ted Kennedy. He was the most ambitious and successful of all the Kennedy's.
He was a great figure in the Senate and was a true leader. He had experience and insight that most senators (I mean this without bashing the wonderful U.S. Senate) didn't have.
Sen. Kennedy was the ideal Senator and always tried to look out for the peoples best interest. Too often the game of politics gets in the way and corrupts Washington, but Sen. Kennedy seldom let that happen.
While I may not agree with his views and policy, I admire him and hold great respect for him. He may have thought differently than i do on key issues and especially since Obama, but he is a wise, noble and was a great person with true character and heart. That is hard to find sometimes in Washington.
His constituents highly favored him as he was one of the longest members in the U.S. Senate ever.
Today we have lost a truly amazing person who strives to be the best he can and never gives up and fights for what he believes in.
Washington will deeply miss Senator Edward Kennedy.
Washington, has a huge hole to fill.
R.I.P. Senator Kennedy.
Stimulus Tracker: Behind Bars
Yesterday a report came out saying that 3,900 stimulus checks went to jail cons. each check was worth $250.
That's YOUR hard earned tax money going to thousands of inmates. This is on par to a story earlier this year when 10,000 stimulus checks went to people who were dead.
Oh well, at least there's nothing in the stimulus like oh say, $248 million for FURNITURE at the new Homeland Security headquarters.
Stimulus Tracker: The Mormon Church of Latter -Day Crickets
Today's Stimulus Tracker found and earmark hidden in the stimulus bill for 254k to improve the competativness of sheep for the wool market.
Your tax dollars, going to sheep wool. Can it get any more pathetic?
Actually, yes it can, thanks to the stimulus crickets are about to get a lot richer. The stimulus contains an earmark of 1 million for the removal of MORMON CRICKETS in Utah.
The President is a big tax the rich guy, but president Obama, i feel now, YOU have more money than you know what to do with. Perhaps YOU should pay more money BACK to the American people.
Support For Closing Gitmo Drops
Here is a section from the 'Hot Air Blog' i read today taken from Rasmussen that i found very interesting. It seems the country now has a desire to fight terrorism and is concerned with letting terrorists go.
Here is the Rasmussen poll on closing Gitmo:
"Seventy-five percent (75%) of U.S. voters are at least somewhat concerned that dangerous terrorists will be set free if the Guantanamo prison camp is closed and some prisoners are transferred to other countries. Fifty-six percent (56%) are very concerned.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that just 24% are not concerned about the potential danger.
Support for the president’ s plan to close the prison camp for suspected terrorists at the Guantanamo Naval Base in Cuba continues to erode. It’s been steadily dropping since Obama announced the camp closure just after taking office in January. Only 32% of voters now favor closing the prison camp, down six points from May and down 12 points since the President announced his decision in January.
Fifty-five percent (55%) now oppose closing the prison, with 13% not sure. In January, just after the president announced his decision, just 42% were opposed."
Vacation Time
The polls look grim, Rasmussen poll has Obama with a -14% index rating, senators and congressmen are getting hammered at the town hall meetings as the public shows their disapproval of Obamacare. the Obama econmic team was 2 trillion off for the debt estimates and people are outraged.
luckily w have a leader in the white house who when things look bad, goes on vacation! When Bush went on vacation it showed lack of leadership as he was facing a war. Obama has increased the debt by 4 xs and is having a hell of a time with healthcare reform.
Go on vacation and forget your troubles. what a leader. This August recess when the politicians leave let's build a cage around D.C so they can't get back in.
Two trillion dollars off good god. and the fun is just beginning.
Healthcare and Aproval Ratings
So yesterday Mason-Dixon poll came out with some new info. Obama's poll ratings dropped to 45%! healthcare reform has killed him in the polls.
Another fact i want to share is that the Stanford Report came out and 77% of elders in France, Germany and Britain want a complete reform of their healthcare systems. they're tired of the gov't run plan. What do you think of the Gov't plan?
Team Obama A Little Off With The Numbers
"Last year, President Obama campaigned against budget deficits. Yet, now we have the newly announced figures from the Obama administration stating that the deficits numbers over the next decade will add up to over $9 trillion-- $2 trillion more than had been forecast as recently as March.
Even this likely underestimates the deficit by at least another $1 trillion. Looking back, it is hard to believe that the deficits during the Bush administration totaled only about $3 trillion over eight years."
""The Fox Nation
The Obama Odministration told us the deficit was 7.1 trillion when the CBO said 9 trillion. After team Obama assured us the CBO was wrong, they come to us and tell us that the deficit is...9 trillion.
If they are off by two trillion and can't this right, where is the comfort that they even have health reform costs right?
Low Approval Ratings For Franken
My US Senator, Al Franken (D. MN) has a very low approval rating. Usually new gov't officials are welcomed by their citizens with a high rating.
Today a poll came out showing Al Franken has an approval rating, of just 43%. This while 45% of the Gopher state dissaproves.
What a way to start your term. Franken is much like Obama, so if you've seen his dropping ratings so far, it doesn't look good for Franken.
Canada Wants Health Reform
While Barack Obama continues to hail Canada’s health-care system as a model for the US to follow, its own constituencies warn that it’s nearing a collapse. Saying that a “health care revolution has passed us by,” the president of the Canadian Medical Association wants a major change to eliminate long wait times and inject creativity back into the hidebound system. Dr. Robert Ouellette wants to use competition to do it:
The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says this country’s health-care system is sick and doctors need to develop a plan to cure it. …
The pitch for change at the conference is to start with a presentation from Dr. Robert Ouellet, the current president of the CMA, who has said there’s a critical need to make Canada’s health-care system patient-centred. He will present details from his fact-finding trip to Europe in January, where he met with health groups in England, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands and France.
His thoughts on the issue are already clear. Ouellet has been saying since his return that “a health-care revolution has passed us by,” that it’s possible to make wait lists disappear while maintaining universal coverage and “that competition should be welcomed, not feared.”
In other words, Ouellet believes there could be a role for private health-care delivery within the public system.
He has also said the Canadian system could be restructured to focus on patients if hospitals and other health-care institutions received funding based on the patients they treat, instead of an annual, lump-sum budget. This “activity-based funding” would be an incentive to provide more efficient care, he has said.
Who Says Women Are Under Payed?
In a recent chart i read it gave out the spending on women's cancer, versus mens cancer.
The National Institutes of Health estimate they will spend $4,446,000 on women's cancer, and $299,000 on men's cancer.
This leaves a 15:1 ration in FAVOR of WOMEN. Not men.
The media has also gotten involved in this bias (big surprise) as in 2008 they reported on 260,950 cases of women's cancer, and only 197,650 cases of mens cancer.
Oh and don't forget affirmative action. More jobs for women, just for being women.
Women are so discriminated against.
Harry Reid Calls Town Hall Protesters 'Evil Mongers'
In an interview yesterday regarding the Town-hall meetings, Sen. Harry Reid (D.-NV) called the protesters speaking out against the government, "evil monger."
Hmm now it is interesting to me to here him call these protesters evil mongers, when i've never heard him call liberal protesters evil mongers. What about the RNC radical protesters throwing sandbags off highways and spraying tear gass? What were they?
Have you ever heard Harry Reid call terrorists evil mongers? I mean has he ever once refered to Al-Qaida as evil mongers? Or the Taliban? Has Senator Reid ever called Hammas evil mongers.
Senator Reid only gives out the label 'evil monger' to the American people.
Radical Muslim terrorist extremists who carried out 9/11 are ok and captured terrorists deserve rights, but the American people speaking out their opinion, they're evil mongers.
I wonder what he will call those who vote against him in 2010?
Which is more Dangerous; a Gun or a Swimming Pool?
It seems reasonable that we have gun control laws. Guns kill people. Guns kill little children. Why not be afraid of something like that?
Let's think of something fun. How about a swimming pool? they're nice, relaxing, what's not to like. Why should be be worried about a swimming pool.
In the book Freakonomics they take the same question, 'which is more dangerous, a gun, or a swimming pool?
This is what they came back with:
"Consider the parents of an eight-year-old girl named, say, Molly. Her two best friends, Amy and Imani, each live nearby. Molly's parents know that Amy's parents keep a gun in their house, so they have forbidden Molly to play there. Instead, Molly spends a lot of time at Imani's house, which has a swimming pool in the backyard. Molly's parents feel good about having made such a smart choice to protect their daughter.
But according to the data, their choice isn't smart at all. In a given year, there is one drowning of a child for every 11,000 residential pools in the United States. (In a country with 6 million pools, this means that roughly 550 children under the age of ten drown each year.) Meanwhile, there is 1 child killed by a gun for every 1 million-plus guns. (In a country with an estimated 200 million guns, this means that roughly 175 children under ten die each year from guns.) The likelihood of death by pool (1 in 11,000) versus death by gun (1 in 1 million-plus) isn't even close: Molly is roughly 100 times more likely to die in a swimming accident at Imani's house than in gunplay at Amy's."
Government Is The Problem
In a speech yesterday in defense of his health care plan, President Obama used an interesting analogy to dismiss criticism that the inclusion of a government-run insurance option could undermine private insurers:
“UPS and FedEx are doing just fine… It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.”
The Post Office. Now this seems counter productive, seeing it as the USPS (united states postal service) is run by the Government. The Government regulates and runs the post office president obama. Fed-Ex is a PRIVATE SECTOR company.
So he is basically saying the private sector is doing just fine, it's the government that's always having problems.
Did i mention i still havent gotten my book from the USPS yet?
The Healthcare Debate Never Ends
And the on-going debate of healthcare continues. Public support for the Obama-proposed reform has fallen to an all time LOW, and alternatives are popping up everywhere. People are seeing right through the phony liberal dogma being thrown around. As people lose trust in this administration, you can expect some fear tactics soon. Just like the stimulus, just like cap-and-trade and now healthcare.
Today we are searching for healthcare that is so expensive that 47 million people can't afford it right now. But did you know that in the State of Georgia, healthcare is avalable for less than $100 a month?
Here's another example on how affordable health coverage can be, this time using the Blue Cross Blue Shield website for the state of Georgia and getting a quote for a 25-year old male living in Atlanta:
The "Tonik" plan offers the following services (including dental and vision coverage, $20 office visits, physician choice, etc.) for only $97.46 per month (there are other cheaper plans, this is a midrange plan):
Network: PPO
Deductible: $5,000
Coinsurance (after deductible): 100%
Physician Office visits: $20 copay for first 4 visits, then plan pays 100% after deductible.
Drug Coverage: $10 generic / $30 preferred / $50 non-preferred.
Physician Choice: Yes
Dental Care: $0 for cleanings, exams and x-rays. You pay 20% for minor restorative procedures like fillings after $25 deductible.
Vision care: Plan pays $50 toward a routine eye exam, glasses or contact lenses and you'll pay the rest.
Professional Services (X-ray, lab, diagnostics, etc.): Plan pays 100%
Outpatient Care: Plan pays 100%
Hospital Inpatient Services: Plan pays 100%
Emergency Care: Plan pays 100%
Physical/Occupational Therapy, Chiropractic Services: Plan pays 100%
Preventive Care : Plan pays 100%
All that for less than $100 a month.
Healthcare is so expensive isn't it.
ANother thing is, we now have free healthcare. today. right now we offer free health. Select Walgreens are offering free healthcare for families now.
"The Take Care Recovery Plan provides care you can count on.
Sacrificing quality healthcare for you and your family should never be an option. As a healthcare provider, we see the effects of a struggling economy on the patients and neighborhoods we serve.
That's why we've created the Take Care Recovery Plan to help our current and future patients. It provides access to free healthcare visits for our patients, and their families, who have lost their jobs and are uninsured."
So, Blue Cross Blue Shield for less than $100 a month, Take Care Recovery Plan, and MEDICAID, do we really need a government take over?
Today we are searching for healthcare that is so expensive that 47 million people can't afford it right now. But did you know that in the State of Georgia, healthcare is avalable for less than $100 a month?
Here's another example on how affordable health coverage can be, this time using the Blue Cross Blue Shield website for the state of Georgia and getting a quote for a 25-year old male living in Atlanta:
The "Tonik" plan offers the following services (including dental and vision coverage, $20 office visits, physician choice, etc.) for only $97.46 per month (there are other cheaper plans, this is a midrange plan):
Network: PPO
Deductible: $5,000
Coinsurance (after deductible): 100%
Physician Office visits: $20 copay for first 4 visits, then plan pays 100% after deductible.
Drug Coverage: $10 generic / $30 preferred / $50 non-preferred.
Physician Choice: Yes
Dental Care: $0 for cleanings, exams and x-rays. You pay 20% for minor restorative procedures like fillings after $25 deductible.
Vision care: Plan pays $50 toward a routine eye exam, glasses or contact lenses and you'll pay the rest.
Professional Services (X-ray, lab, diagnostics, etc.): Plan pays 100%
Outpatient Care: Plan pays 100%
Hospital Inpatient Services: Plan pays 100%
Emergency Care: Plan pays 100%
Physical/Occupational Therapy, Chiropractic Services: Plan pays 100%
Preventive Care : Plan pays 100%
All that for less than $100 a month.
Healthcare is so expensive isn't it.
ANother thing is, we now have free healthcare. today. right now we offer free health. Select Walgreens are offering free healthcare for families now.
US vs. Europe Cancer Survival Rates.
A comparison of the US and European healthcare shows a table of cancer survival ratings in both systems. Here is a summary:
"Based upon period survival data for 2000-02 from 47 European cancer registries, 5-year survival rates were found to be higher in the U.S. than in a European composite for cancer at all major sites (see table above, click to enlarge). For men (all sites combined), 47.3% of Europeans survived 5 years, compared to 66.3% of Americans. For women, the contrast was 55.8% vs. 62.9%. The male survival difference was much greater than the female primarily because of the very large difference in survival rates from prostate cancer.
Thus, the US appears to screen more vigorously for cancer than Europe and people in the US who are diagnosed with cancer have higher 5-year survival probabilities."
And we are beating them without universal healthcare.
A Closer Look at Universal Coverage.
The debate of unversal healthcare continues and the steaks are getting higher. People are looking for answers and solutions. We can see examples, in Canada, France, and The U.K. but perhaps we dont have to streatch that far. Maybe we can see it, right here in the states.
Welcome to the state of Masseceusetts. They have placed universal coverage for the people there. But how has it faired them?
Lets take a look:
Cumulative Average Wait Time in Days Average Wait Time
Metro Area per 5 Specialties in Days per 5 Specialties
Boston ..........................................................49.6
Philadelphia ................................................... 27.0
Los Angeles ................................................... 24.2
Washington, D.C. .............................................. 22.6
San Diego ...................................................... 20.2
Minneapolis .................................................... 19.8
Dallas ........................................................ 19.2
Seattl. ........................................................ 14.2
Detroit ........................................................ 12.0
Atlanta ........................................................ 11.2
Total Cumulative Average ....................................... 20.5As these numbers indicate, Boston experiences by far the longest average wait times of any of the 15 metropolitan markets. In addition, wait times in Boston increased in 2009 over 2004 in three of the four specialties where comparisons are possible: dermatology, ob/gyn and orthopedic surgery.
In general, wait times decreased in 2009 relative to 2004 in most metropolitan markets surveyed, with several exceptions. Long wait times in Boston may be driven in part by the healthcare reform initiative that was put in place in Massachusetts in 2006. The initiative succeeded in covering many of the state’s uninsured patients. However, it has been reported that many patients in Massachusetts are encountering difficulty in accessing physicians.
Survey results support these reports. Long appointment wait times in Boston also may signal what could happen nationally in the event that access to healthcare is expanded through healthcare reform. Increased demand resulting from improved access to care for approximately 47 million uninsured people can be expected to extend doctor appointment wait times in many markets.
Most Outrageous Taxes
~Facial Hair Tax: Do you have a goatee? If so I suggest you stay out of the state of Massachusetts, which has a law on the books that makes it illegal to have a goatee without first purchasing a license to do so. A small fee must be paid in order to wear the facial hair in public, and one can be fined if a license is not presented to a law enforcement official upon request.
~Erie County Occupational Priviledge Tax: Have a job? Work and earn money? Then YOU are eligable for the Occupation Priviledge Tax. Because income tax wasn't enough.
~ Playing Card Tax: If you’re from Alabama, I suggest you take a short drive across state lines if you plan on purchasing any playing cards in the near future. Alabama has in place a 10 cent tax on the sale of all playing cards with 54 cards or less. The only joker’s wild in Alabama are the lawmakers that would enact such a silly tax.
~Take Out Tax: Some states have a fast food tax. So if you are in a hurry, and get fasted food, you get taxed. the loophole would be to eat in, but some states also have a 'eat-in' tax. So either way, you lose.
Low Unemployment Maybe BAD For The Economy
I read something recently that really made me think about unemployment. It apears that if unemployment dropps, it's good for the economy. The lower unemployment, the better.Lower unemployment, more jobs. However that may not be the case.
If you think about it, when employment reports are taken, those reports do not enclude those out of the work force ie, military, house wives/house husbands, retirees, those who have stopped looking for a job, etc.
So they are taken out of the pot. When unemployment in a bad economy drops, it is not always because there are more jobs, but because people decide they don't want to look for jobs and go into despair. They drop out of labour force.
"On the surface the unemployment rate going down seems good, but when you dig into the numbers, we can see that it has nothing to do with an increase in the number of jobs and everything to do with the fact that the labor force is shrinking."
Figure it this way. If the workforce is 1000 and 100 are out of work, the unemployment rate is 10%. But if 10 of those 100 stop looking for work, the workforce is 990, and the unemployment rate drops to 9.1%.
When you see that unemployment went from 9.5 to 9.4 from june to july, it is not that people are getting jobs and employment is better, but that people, in a bad economy, stop looking for jobs, and the labour force gets smaller. The headline is "Unemployment Drops to 9.4%!" What's missing from the headline numbers is the fact that 422,000 people stopped looking for work. and the work force shrunk. They are then removed from the poll. making it apear that 422,000 jobs were made but really they were lost.
We lost 422,000 jobs from june to july, and the economy is turning around isn't it.
Obama Economy Not as Good As It Looks
A Politico article today says that Bureau of Labour Statistics estimates that unemployment will hit 10%. Their new report comes out tommorrow at 8:30 am.
Politico says that even the Obama administration expects that unemployment will have risen.
Press Secritary Robert Gibbs told the press; “I expect we'll see several hundred thousand jobs lost,”
Keep in mind if unemployment goes to 10% it will be the highest rate since, the 1970s Carter recession.
What's this talk about Obama turning the economy around?
Wise Latina Now Justice Wise Latina
Today Sotomayor was confirmed for the Supreme Court. The "wise" latina has won in her war against the U.S. consitution. Today we have confirmed an activist to the court. One who will trade the US constitution for political gain. One who based on her opinion will make choices that affect you. Not doing her job she will abandone her duty as a judge to interperate the constitution and UPHOLD its words, not change and rewrite them. America will pay the price.
Here is something i found from the Cato Institute that greatly describes my feelings on this. ()
'What makes the American Dream possible, however, is the rule of law, which in this country is ultimately guaranteed by the Constitution. The Constitution provides for a very specific government structure, with checks on each branch’s powers designed to maximize liberty and eliminate arbitrary and capricious rule. To that end, officers of the judicial branch—judges—are to make their decisions irrespective of the race, religion, or riches of those who come before them. And judges are to interpret the Constitution as written text. If they set aside the text and rule based on their own notions of fairness, then they act as unelected legislators or, worse, extra-constitutional amenders of our founding document'
According to Progressives; No Jobs Are Better For The South Side Population
If there’s ever an illustration of how “progressive” elites and organized labor are keeping the very people they supposedly care about locked up on the plantation, it’s their consuming opposition to a new Wal-Mart store on the South Side (of Chicago).
The impoverished, unemployed, blacks, seniors, teens—they’ve all been getting a good frigging by the organized campaign by white liberals and powerful unions to block the construction of only the city’s second Wal-Mart, at 83rd Street and Stewart Avenue.
The rousing success of the city’s first Wal-Mart at 4650 W North Ave. providing jobs and shopping for a West Side neighborhood in great need of them hasn’t dissuaded the elites in the least from blocking something that people want and need. More evidence of progressive, white elitism behind the opposition is provided by a new survey conducted for the retailer that found that 76.7% of the 75,347 city residents surveyed want the new store.
Progressives will portray themselves as guardians of those pleading for the Wal-Mart. Progressives say they are only are trying to “protect” those poor people from low wages, insufficient benefits and part-time work. Progressives have decided that for “those people” no jobs are better than jobs that they want and need. Progressives will cite their opposition to Wal-Mart as evidence of their compassion and, well, progressiveness.
It’s all too condescending and patronizing. It all sounds too much like racists who once said they know what’s “best for our colored.” It’s beyond shameful.
-From the Chicago Daily Observer-
What we have here, is a bunch of progressives, mad at walmart for giving jobs to people who otherwise wouldn't have any jobs. hmm. Not to mention these are minorities who are getting these jobs. Those who act all supportive of the black ommunity and acuse places like Walmart for keeping them down, are now trying to cheat these blacks, out of a job.
Since when is no job beter than having a job? Low paychecks? better than NO paycheck at all.
Stimulus Tracker: Toilet Waste
Todays Stimulus Tracker found that:
2.8 million of your hard earned dollars are going toilet restoration.
So while you're pressed in this economy, know that $2.8 million is being spent to fix toilets. 2.8 million that you could really use right now.
The government really does know how to spend your money better ;)
A Simple Introduction to Our Tax System
A Simple Introduction to Our Tax System
Here is a very simple way to understand our tax system. Let's put tax cuts in terms everyone can understand. Suppose that every day, ten men go out for dinner. The bill for all ten totals $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this.
The first four men - the poorest - would pay nothing, the fifth would pay $1, the sixth would pay $3, the seventh $7, the eighth $12, the ninth $18, and the tenth man - the richest - would pay $59.
That's what they decided to do. The ten men ate dinner in the restaurant every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement - until one day, the owner threw them a curve (in tax language, a tax cut). "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily meal by $20." So now dinner for the ten only cost $80.00.
The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay taxes. So the first four men were unaffected. They would still eat for free. But what about the other six - the paying customers? How could they divvy up the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his "fair share?" The six men realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would end up being paid to eat their meal. So the restaurant owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.
And so the fifth man paid nothing, the sixth pitched in $2, the seventh paid $5, the eighth paid $9, the ninth paid $12, leaving the tenth man with a bill of $52 instead of his earlier $59. Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to eat for free.
But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. "Hey, out of the $20 savings, I only got a dollar, but he got $7!" declared the sixth man as he pointed to the tenth. "Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man, "I only saved a dollar, too... It's unfair that he got seven times more than me!" "That's true!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $7 back when I got only $2? The wealthy get all the breaks!" "Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison who have never paid for anything, "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!" The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.
The next night he didn't show up for dinner, so the nine sat down and ate without him. When it came time to pay the bill, they discovered a little late something that was very important. They were fifty-two dollars short of paying the bill! Imagine that!
And that, boys and girls, journalists and college instructors, is how the tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up at the table anymore. Where would that leave the rest? Unfortunately, most taxing authorities anywhere cannot seem to grasp this rather straight-forward logic!
