Time To End The Argument That Tea Partiers are "Racist"

This is somewhat out of whack with a Gallup poll that showed the tea parties were 79% white, from just last week.

But, either way, which stat is most important to keep in mind when looking at these polls?

That means the expected racial makeup of any random group meeting in America would be 75% white. An alternative headline for this story would be “Poll Shows Tea Party Members are Slightly More Likely to be White than the General Population”. Oh, the horrors.

But why? Why is it that tea parties feature slightly more whiteys? Could it be the 95% approval rating among African-Americans that the President currently enjoys?

Are we really supposed to be surprised that a group of people who universally approve of the president–don’t go to rallies showing disapproval of the president? If you need to go to the racist attack to figure that one out, you probably already work in the media."""
